Applying Knowaste's technology to outlying areas
Local authorities in what are known as ‘outlying areas’, or less heavily populated areas, are being put under increasing pressure to achieve strict recycling targets put forward by the UK government and the EU.
As a result, many local authorities and commercial companies in less densely populated areas of the UK are turning to businesses such as Knowaste who have the technology to recycle their AHP waste in an environmentally sound manner. An estimated one million tonnes of AHP waste is generated in the UK every year.
We are pleased to announce that Knowaste are in the process of securing partners in these areas to develop smaller plants to provide our services to local authorities.
These plants allow us to recycle around 12,000 tonnes of AHP waste per year compared to our standard size site of 36,000 tonne capacity. The smaller versions are more financially effective in low density areas that produce lower levels of AHP waste, such as the South West and East Anglia.
We will be announcing these partnerships and developments in the coming months, so stay tuned.
