The growing need for AHP collections
Over the past three years, we have seen a change in the way our waste is being managed, and how much can be recycled using technology like Knowaste’s.
Within the M25 circular alone there are around 7 million people – equating to over 100,000 tonnes of AHP waste material per year. This is disposed of by local authorities by either landfill or incineration.
Of course there are many local authorities in London that stretch beyond the M25 circular, meaning that there is an even greater figure of AHP waste that can be recycled effectively.
In addition, there are around 1,391 businesses per 10,000 resident adults within the M25 that produce AHP waste; equating to at least 50,000 tpa of AHP waste.
We are in talks with commercial hygiene collection companies in the Greater London area to discuss the potential tonnage of waste that they will require to be collected each year. All of this material can be recycled effectively using the Knowaste technology.
A growing number of local authorities and hygiene companies are now separating AHP as disposal costs continue to rise and they seek to meet waste reduction, elimination and recycling targets. Our aim is to provide an environmentally sound solution to help achieve these targets.
